IKOS Systems Ships Next-Generation Emulator to Early Adopters
CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 3, 2001--IKOS Systems,
Inc. (Nasdaq:IKOS) a leading provider of high-performance design
verification solutions, today announced the shipment of its
next-generation VStation emulator. This latest generation of emulators
from IKOS represents the company's fourth generation in four years.
Each generation has more than doubled the capacity available to users
while maintaining a lower cost per gate.
The new generation leads the industry in providing capacity of 12
- 15 million gates in one system and up to 45 million gates in
multi-system configurations, plus substantial enhancements to key
productivity features such as co-modeling, multi-module compile and
improved compiler performance.
The higher gate capacity of the new system is critical for
customers verifying complex SoC designs. Ramon Nunez, president and
CEO of IKOS Systems noted, ``Leading edge companies are creating
designs in the 10 million gate range today and projecting that their
next design will be at least double that size. This new generation of
product from IKOS will support even the most complex SoC design
verification requirements for several generations of chips to come.''
Nunez continued, ``Our patented VirtualWires(TM) technology allows us
to create a new generation of emulator every 12 - 18 months. These
systems are backward compatible to previous generations to protect the
customer's original investment. Our proven track record of product
development enables customers to have complete confidence that we will
be able to keep up with their verification requirements.''
Linda Prowse Fosler, vice president of marketing for IKOS
explained, ``We are delighted with the confidence so many customers
have shown in our ability to develop and deliver quality products on
schedule. Each advance order for this new system is both a compliment
and a trust.''
